MAGNESIUM SULFAT 25g
Synonyms: bitter salt, Epsom salt.
Properties: colourless prismatic crystals disappearing in the air, with bitter and salty taste.
Pharmacological action: Laxative. Indications: is used as a laxative, and also for stomach washing. Contraindications: individual intolerance; hypermagniyemiya.
Side-effects: allergic reactions, belly-aches, meteorizm is possible.
Directions for use and dosage: for adults: 15-25g once a day on an empty stomach, previously dissolved in a glass of water (250 ml). Take 1 tablespoon of 20-25% solution 3 times a day as cholagogue. The maximum dose for adults is 40g per day. For children above 12 years old: 10 g once a day (1/2 glass of water). For children of 6 to12 years: 5-10 g (i.e. from a half up to the whole volume of the solution prepared at the rate of 10 g on 1/2 glasses of water). For children under 6 years the preparation cannot be used without physician‘s prescription. Preparation application in the form of enemas (50-100ml of 20-30% of solution) is possible.
Caution: isn't recommended to take systematically.
Storage: Keep at a temperature of 15-25°C, in a place, inaccessible to children.
