ALBUCID 0.5g X10

Description: flavourless white crystal powder. Easily dissolving in water, it is almost insoluble in alcohol.
Pharmacological properties: antimicrobic.
Directions for use and dosage: for oral use; for adults 0.5 - 1.0g 3-5 times a day; for children 0.1-0.5g 3-5 times a day.
The highest doses for adults are: single use-2 g, daily - 7g.
Indications: at ulcers the cornea are powdered with pounded powder of sulfatsil-sodium 5-6 times a day till full epitelization, then drop water solution; ointment is also applied.
Sulfacedamide can also be used for treatment of infected wounds; powder wound surfaces with powder. The preparation usually has no side-effects. Sometimes, especially when using more concentrated solutions, irritation of tissues is observed; in these cases solutions of smaller concentration are prescribed.
Contraindications: toxicoallergic reactions on sulfanilamid in the anamnesis.
Storage conditions: in a dry, cool place, out of the reach of children.
Shelf-life: 2 years.
