SYNTHOMYCIN LINIMENT 10% 25 g

Composition for 100g: active ingredient - 5% or 10% synthomycin (chloramphenicol), supplemental ingrediients - castor oil, emulsifier, purified water, preservative. Pharmacological action: antibiotic with a broad spectrum of action. Has bacteriostatic effect. It is effective against some gram-positive and gram-negative cocci, and some viruses.
Indications: purulent defeats of skin, furunculus, long-term non-healing trophic ulcers, burns grade 2-3, cracked nipples in beast-feeding women.
Side-effects: hypersensibility to preparation components, psoriasis, eczema, fungal diseases.
Directions for use: either affix gauze tampons soaked in liniment or apply liniment directly on the affected area of the skin and cover with bandage. Bandagings are done depending on indications in 1-3 days, sometimes in 4-5 days. At cracks of nipples at recently confined mothers, after each feeding, treat the nipples with 0,25% ammonia solution, then affix a sterile napkin with thick layer of the liniment on the crack. Duration of treatment is 2-5 days.
Storage: keep out of the reach of children, in a cool, dark place.
Shelf-life: 2 years.
