Esco-Pharm was founded in 1999 as a non-sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing company. Initially operating under the name "ESCULAP," the company engaged in wholesale pharmaceutical distribution. As the company established its presence and consolidated its market position, the need arose to expand into a crucial new domain: manufacturing. In the early 2000s, faced with a scarcity of experience, industry information, specialized personnel, and logistical capabilities, the company regularly encountered various operational challenges. Despite an unfavorable climate for sectoral growth, the manufacturing division gradually bore its first fruits, largely due to the persistent efforts of the founder, Ashot Gasparyan. Recognizing that manufacturing and wholesale distribution are distinct business operations, and given the steady growth in production volume, the decision was made to acquire a dedicated property. The vision was to gradually equip this site into a pharmaceutical plant compliant with all current industry standards. Notably, the building of the current facility originally consisted of nothing more than bare perimeter walls. An immense task lay ahead, with complexities beyond what could initially be envisioned. Although it was early to speak of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines at the time, the facility was proactively designed to meet those exact requirements. Overcoming all obstacles, the facility was progressively renovated and fitted in accordance with regulatory standards. Initially, the product range was limited to a few items. Over time, we assembled a highly professional team. Remarkably, several team members specialized in their fields and advanced to executive roles precisely during Esco-Pharm's growth journey.
